House Update

Hurry up ... and wait!

The good news is that we have a brand spankin' new roof on our house! Yeah! The bad news is that the inside of the house is still a mess more than 3 months after Ike rolled through Houston.

The contractors just started the demo work on the formal living / dining room. The ceiling is totally off now and one wall is down to just studs. They are coming back Monday to finish the demo work and to start putting up new sheetrock and start working on seaming the sheetrock together. We are in the process of picking new paint colors, floors, cabinents for the vanity in the bathroom, etc. It is a bit overwhelming (are we choosing the right floors!?!), but I am excited that the work is starting and there is a small light at the end of the tunnel.

We are waiting on one more check from the insurance company and I will feel much better once we receive it / get the final approval for the amount so that we can start the work on the floors (that is the last item we have yet to agree on). All I want for Christmas is the last check from All State!
