Every night for as long as I can remember I have sung the same song to Andrew ... well my version of the song anyway.
"Good night sweetheart, it's time to go. Good night sweetheart, it's time to go. Good night sweetheart, we love you so. Good night sweetheart, good night."
Anyhow, it has changed form over the last couple of years from a soft, sweet lullaby being sung by a new mom who just didn't want to put her baby to bed (so I would sing the verse over and over again and just rock Andrew in my arms) to a fun song we still sing every single night before bed. Andrew insists that I sing the song and he frequently tells Daddy to stop singing because Doug is being silly in the background.
To make it more fun, Andrew and I will dance and stomp around the room and Doug and I will sing something like(work with me here, you need to sing it in your head):
"Good night sweetheart, we love you so, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa ... good night sweetheart, good night.
Well, tonight, I just sang the song and didn't add the "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa" part and Andrew interrupted me and added the "whoas" himself. It was too cute! It's interesting to me because Andrew doesn't ever sing this particular song with us because he wants us to sing to him (I guess that is why?), so it surprised me when he added the "whoas" tonight but it was so precious!
