Easter was a resounding success at the Moore household. We got up early to go to Easter Mass at 9:00 a.m. (side bar - getting two children out of the always takes more time than you expect, but that is another post).
While we were getting ready we told Andrew that we were going to church and he said, "No, I no want to go to church." He clearly remembered that he has to be quiet at church and that he is usually being scolded half the time. I hate that he feels that way, but I can understand that a 2, 3 or even 4 year old would not enjoy forced quiet time.
Tyler slept the morning away and Andrew was semi-well behaved at church. Had the service only been an hour (as usual), I would actually be able to say that he was a super star ... but an hour and a half was a bit too much for him! There were lots of impatient little ones at church though, which only reaffirmed that Andrew is normal! :) Towards the end of the service he said, "I want ice cream." He never asks for ice cream, but if you recall from a previous post we told him that if he was good at church we would take him to get ice cream. This was several weeks ago, so I was pretty surprised that he remembered! Needless to say, he didn't get ice cream ...
Andrew seems to be coming down with a cough and is a bit under the weather so he has been a bit more irritable. He actually fell asleep in the car on the way home from church, which is a rarity for Andrew. When we got home I made breakfast and then we put Andrew down for his nap ... except he didn't sleep. What happened to my tired little boy that fell asleep in the car? He just sat on his bed talking to himself, his animals and "reading" his books. He finally started to whine / cry for Mommy and Daddy, so Doug went up to check on him and tell him he had to nap / lie down and be quiet or we weren't going to see Peepaw and Mom Mom. After 1 hour and 45 minutes of quiet time upstairs, but no nap, we decided it was time for the Easter Bunny to hide the eggs and we would go ahead and get Andrew up. In the 5 minutes it took the Easter Bunny to hide the eggs in the front yard, what did Andrew do? He fell asleep! We let him sleep about 45 minutes before getting him up to do his Easter egg hunt before heading over to Peepaw and Mom Mom's for Easter dinner.
The Easter Bunny brought Andrew a bunch of eggs filled with Hotwheels, goldfish, animal crackers, Hershey Kisses, fruit snacks and cookies ... but the biggest and best gift was a Woody action figure from the movie Toy Story. Andrew already has the Buzz action figure that he received as a gift from Tyler when Tyler was born. Plus he and Tyler got a bunch more loot from the Easter Bunny at Peepaw and Mom Mom's house!

This was taken at Doug's parents house (referred to as Peepaw and Mom Mom) after Tyler woke up from his second long nap for the day. He was content with Daddy, but when I picked him up he only wanted one thing - to Eat!
Tyler did not want to take pictures - he wanted to eat!
Happy Easter!
