We took Tyler to the doctor this morning for his 2 month well baby visit and immunizations ... we took him this week since we will be in California when he officially turns 2 months old next week. The doc was very happy with his weight gain and development. He weighed in at 11 pounds, 8 ounces and was 23 5/8 inches long, just shy of 2 feet. The last time we measured Andrew he was 35 5/8 inches, or just shy of three feet tall. I can hardly believe that one small foot separates the boys -- except that so much growing and developing happens in the years it takes to grow that additional foot!
Tyler's appointment was at 10:00 a.m. and my follow-up appointment with the OB was at 11:15. One would think that 1 hour and 15 minutes would be sufficient time to see one doctor and go down a flight of stairs to see another doctor - but one would be wrong! The pediatrician's office was not very busy, but they were still very behind schedule. By 11:25 (read: 10 minutes behind schedule for my doctor appointment) we had seen Tyler's doctor but the nurse had not been in to give him his immunizations. So, Douglas told me to go down to my appointment and he would stay with Tyler for the shots. Douglas reported that Tyler was a champ - he cried while the needles were in and stopped crying as soon as the needles were out, all 4 of them! Shortly after his shots he fell asleep and he has been sleeping most of the day.
Tyler and I also took a trip to my office today to say hi to my coworkers. For the most part he was very well behaved :) He cried out a couple of times, but it only took a little bit of the "mom sway" to get him to fall asleep in my arms. Friday marks the end of my 8th week out of the office, which means I have 4 weeks left of maternity leave before I return to work. I can't believe it - time sure is flying by!
